Center Has New Name

The Board of Directors of the Foundation for Advanced Study and Training (FAST) recently voted to change the name of The Center to The Beckett Center for Christian Understanding of Islam. This change reflects the Board's gratitude to Drs. Charles and Jeanne Beckett, who helped found FAST in the early 1990s and subsequently The Center, which consists of a Christian-Muslim museum and library. We invite you to call and schedule a tour of The Beckett Center for yourself or your organization.

Events for Winter 2011

Lectures and field trips are again on the calendar for winter. Click on "Conferences & Classes" under the "Learning Center" tab above to see a current listing of the winter events and also to learn how to register for all offerings.

Winter Hours of The Beckett Center: Mondays and Wednesdays – 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays – 8 a.m. till 12 Noon. The schedule may very, however, so please call the Center before your visit and talk with someone. The Center also offers guided tours of its museum by reservation, including in the evenings and on weekends. Welcome from CCUI Director

The Center for Christian Understanding of Islam (CCUI) welcomes you to the CCUI web site and invites you to visit the Center Mondays through Thursdays (hours listed above). CCUI offers assistance to Christian congregations, individuals, and organizations. One of our major educational tools, “The Plan,” is currently being reviewed and revised and soon will be ready for your use. CCUI also is designing new materials that will be available soon. To discover how we can assist your Christian group, please call and make an appointment to discuss your needs. We will gladly meet with you at times that are convenient for you. CCUI looks forward to serving you and helping you in your ministries.

How To Register for Fall Events

Please call (804) 355-0267 to register to participate in any of the events in the Fall Schedule (go to "Conferences & Classes" under the "Learning Tab" above). The topics and perhaps dates are subject to change depending on availability of speakers. Dr. Charles Beckett will be the tour guide for the field trips. There is no charge to attend any of these events at the Center.
